FIGURE 1. Cross-sections of CO laser-drilled vias in FR4 are shown. For the 9 µm copper, the pulse format was 1 kW peak power, 3 µs FWHM pulse, followed by four 550 W peak, 0.5 µs FWHM pulses. For the 3 µm copper, pulse format was 950 kW peak power, 2 µs FWHM pulse, followed by two 400 W peak, 0.4 µs FWHM pulses.
