Dr. Federico Capasso is the Robert L. Wallace Professor of Applied Physics and Vinton Hayes Senior Research Fellow in Electrical Engineering at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.He is one of the inventors of the quantum-cascade laser. He is also active in the areas of plasmonics, photonic crystals, metamaterials, and the light-based measurement of subtle electrodynamical forces.
