John Voyles

Plant Engineering Manager

Recruited to design, build & install the ArmorLine production facility, Mr. Voyles serves as the Plant Engineering Manager for ArmorLine Corporation and currently focuses on operation of the manufacturing facility. Prior to joining ArmorLine, Mr. Voyles was the Optical Ceramics Division Manager for Technology Assessment & Transfer in Annapolis, MD. In this role his primary responsibilities included; i) high temperature vacuum hot-press design, installation, operation, & maintenance; ii) graphite and CFC tooling & die design; iii) installation & maintenance of equipment for advanced material characterization; iv) implementation of facility and production quality control procedures & database tracking; v) authoring technical proposals in response to government solicitations and managing pilot production and R&D activities to execute SBIR, STTR & ManTech programs awarded by the Army, Navy & DARPA.

Mr. Voyles received a B.S. in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (1997). Following graduation, he worked in Honda’s Automotive R&D department in Marysville, OH before returning to UIUC to obtain an M.S. in Materials Science Engineering (2004).
