Martin Richardson

Professor of Optics & Photonics

Martin Richardson is Pegasus Professor and University Trustee Chair, Northrop Grumman Prof. of X-ray Photonics, and Prof. of Optics & Photonics at CREOL, The College of Optics & Photonics. Professor Richardson has held visiting scientific positions at the Max Born Institute in Berlin, the Institute for Laser Engineering (ILE) Osaka University, the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching, and other institutions in Australia, Canada, France, Qatar, and the former Soviet Union, and is an OSA Fellow. He is the first and founding director of the Townes Laser Institute. His research interests include fiber lasers, EUV sources, additive manufacturing,thermal properties of mid-IR materials, and many others.
