How does three-photon microscopy stack up against two-photon microscopy?
FIGURE 1. Power and energy stability of a 200 kHz 20 W femtosecond laser; average power has a normalized root mean squared deviation (NRMSD) of 0.15% over 12 hours, which makes the power trace virtually indistinguishable from a horizontal line at full scale (a, b). Pulse-resolved energy stability of a representative 10 min period is even better with an NRMSD of 0.07% (c).
