Ocean Optics (Dunedin, FL) has bought Continental Optics Corp. (Hauppage, NY), a manufacturer of precision optical components and coatings for military and commercial markets. The company will keep its name and operate as a division of Ocean Optics, with Continental Optics president Mark Grindel acting as general manager of the new division. This is the company's second expansion in a month; it announced the creation in October of Ocean Thin Films, a division to produce dichroic optics.
