Optical equipment donated to Monroe Community College

Monroe Community College (MCC; Rochester, NY) has received $500,000 in optical fabrication equipment from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Lawrence, CA) and several members of the American Precision Optics Manufacturers Association (Rochester, NY).

Monroe Community College (MCC; Rochester, NY) has received $500,000 in optical fabrication equipment from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Lawrence, CA) and several members of the American Precision Optics Manufacturers Association (Rochester, NY). The donation includes grinders and polishers as well as metrology equipment and will be used by students in the MCC optics fabrication certificate program. One of the few training grounds for skilled opticians in the USA, MCC has previously received more than $1 million in equipment from manufacturers.
