Physical Optics Corporation obtains ISO aerospace certification

Dec. 11, 2010
Torrance, CA--Physical Optics Corporation (POC) obtained AS9110 certification for optoelectronic and electronic products and systems for the aerospace industry.

Torrance, CA--Physical Optics Corporation (POC), a small-system integration for military, aerospace, homeland security, and avionics markets, announces the company's most recent ISO certificate of registration, the AS9110, Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation Maintenance Organizations as certified by QMI-SAI Global Certification Services. The new certification covers the design, manufacture, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of advanced optoelectronic and electronic products and systems for the aerospace industry. POC was also recently certified for AS9100.

According to Mr. Russ Bloom, management system and training expert from Eagle Force, Inc., "A review of the International Aerospace Quality Group's Online Aerospace Supplier Information Systems (OASIS), which is the official list of aerospace certified organizations, confirmed that POC is one of only 28 organizations in the entire U. S. to receive dual certification to AS9100 and AS9110 standards. The effort for any organization to gain certification to AS9100/AS9110 is considerable. It is a remarkable achievement made possible by POC’s strong leadership in quality and production, a visionary management team, talented engineering personnel, and dedicated sales and office support staff. We congratulate them all!"

POC is celebrating its 25th year as a private, employee-owned company. With five buildings and 100,000 sq. ft., POC has active security clearance and complies with all applicable ITAR provisions. Physical Optics Corporation’s quality control management has been certified ISO 9001 for the past ten years and recently received these certifications to AS9100 and AS9110 standards. The company has launched 6 spin-off companies and holds over 91 U. S. Patents covering 40+ technologies.
