AAC Acoustic Technologies makes strategic investment in Kaleido Technology
Hong Kong–AAC Acoustic Technologies Holdings Inc. a global miniature components total solutions provider, has made a strategic initial 32% equity investment in Kaleido Technology ApS, a Danish company and an industry-leader in wafer-level glass molding technology. Kaleido designs and manufactures ultra-precise micro-optics products of display and imaging lenses with its proprietary precision micro-milling and wafer-glass molding technologies.
Mr. Benjamin Pan, CEO of AAC Acoustic said in a release, “This investment complements our strategy to offer miniaturised optical components and, furthermore, demonstrates our technology investment commitment to expand into optics solutions, building on AAC Acoustic’s leading position in the acoustics segment.
Kaleido’s wafer-glass molding technology provides highly cost-effective manufacturing of all-glass aspheric lenses, ideal for wafer-scale integration, and is widely applicable in micro-optical applications.

Stephen Anderson is a photonics industry expert with an international background and has been actively involved with lasers and photonics for more than 30 years. As Director, Industry Development at SPIE – The international society for optics and photonics – he is responsible for tracking the photonics industry markets and technology to help define long-term strategy, while also facilitating development of SPIE’s industry activities. Before joining SPIE, Anderson was Associate Publisher and Editor in Chief of Laser Focus World and chaired the Lasers & Photonics Marketplace Seminar. Anderson also co-founded the BioOptics World brand. Anderson holds a chemistry degree from the University of York and an Executive MBA from Golden Gate University.
