March 30, 2006, Huntsville, AL--SSS Optical Technologies in partnership with Optics for Hire (Arlington, MA) is launching a GOVINDRA (Gas, Odor, Vapor Identification, Networking, Detection, Recording, and Annunciation) line of gas sensors based on patent pending opto-electronic technology.

March 30, 2006, Huntsville, AL--SSS Optical Technologies in partnership with Optics for Hire (Arlington, MA) is launching a GOVINDRA (Gas, Odor, Vapor Identification, Networking, Detection, Recording, and Annunciation) line of gas sensors based on patent pending opto-electronic technology.

The primary target of their ammonia sensors is the poultry industry. New EPA ammonia emission standards for chicken houses necessitate new precise, cost efficient monitoring technologies. Other potential applications for a portable GOVINDRA-001X include use within a UAV for real-time mapping of a moving cloud of a hazardous air pollutant coming from an industrial spill.

The system has sensitivity of 0 -1 ppm (for ammonia) and response time of 300 ms. GOVINDRA can be configured as a small (5x3x1", including batteries) box with wireless connectivity.
