Pulse generators for testing high-speed laser-diode arrays

June 16, 2009
The AVOZ-E pulse generators from Avtech Electrosystems are high-voltage, high-current pulsers ideal for testing high-speed high-current laser-diode arrays, as well as testing multiple identical lower-current devices (for instance, production testing of attenuators). All models offer pulse widths adjustable from 0.5 to 10 µs, and average output powers of up to 100 W.

All models offer pulse widths adjustable from 0.5 to 10 µs, and average output powers of up to 100 W. Five different models are available with maximum output voltages of 50V to 500V and maximum output currents of 50A to 250A. The very high output voltage capability makes these instruments useful for driving high-power stacks of laser diodes connected in series arrays. The rise and fall times range from 50 ns for 50 Amp models, to 200 ns for 250 Amp models.
