Düsseldorf, Germany--The 2013 Photonics21 Student Innovation Award from European technology platform Photonics21 is now seeking applicants. The prize, which is awarded to students working in photonics research and now in its fifth year, will be presented at the evening reception during the Photonics21 Annual Meeting, to be held April 29, 2013.
Anyone under age 35 and active in the field of optics and photonics may apply for the award, which consists of a certificate, a trophy, and a cash prize of $6,533 (€5,000).
Applicants must submit the following:
*Completed application form
*One letter of support (by a supervisor or mentor),
*A short (two-page) biography/résumé
*A list of peer-reviewed publications
*A description of the innovative R&D work (not exceeding four pages in 12-point text), making clear the nature of innovation and potential impact to industry
