Berliner Glas appoints a CTO

Berlin, Germany--Volker Schmidt has taken on the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Berliner Glas.

Berlin, Germany--Volker Schmidt has taken on the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Berliner Glas. In this role he assumes responsibility for all development work within the company group. This comprises the Production and Measuring Technology Division, Production Development as well as future issues in Technology Marketing.

Since joining the Berliner Glas Group in 2002, Schmidt has been responsible for product and technology development in the Photonics Division and since 2006 has been a member of the management board.

In a statement the company said that by appointing Volker Schmidt as CTO, Berliner Glas has laid an important cornerstone for the technological future of the company, which will benefit its current and future optical systems customers.
