    St. Paul, MN--As a part of its Laservision Academy series, laser safety products maker Laservision USA will hold a Laser Safety Officer (LSO) training course from May 23–25 at the E.&J. Gallo Winery (Modesto, CA).

    The course targets individuals using or working with lasers in manufacturing, research, or educational settings who have been assigned the LSO role, and will address the specific duties of the LSO as outlined in the ANSI Z136.1 "Safe Use of Lasers" standard. Upon completion of the course, attendees will be able to develop a laser safety program and learn LSO responsibilities, laser terminology, control measures, and laser laws, regulations, and requirements.

    The three-day program includes breakfast and lunch each day; a tour of the E.&J. Gallo Winery plant, including the laser departments; a printed version of the ANSI Z136.1 standard in a black leather portfolio, plus a flash drive with a complete set of LSO course notes and resource forms; and of course, a social wine tasting of some of Gallo's wines.
