Upper Rissington, England--Lighting test specialist Photometric Testing will offer photometric training courses this year, helping those working with lighting to understand LED specifications. Covering photometry and light measurement, attendees of the one-day courses will learn how to measure and express the output of luminaires and other LED-based products. The company will also offer an optional practical training session, where attendees can gain hands-on experience with the latest measurement equipment.
Robert Yeo of LED design company Pro-Lite (Costa Mesa, CA) will teach the course, covering light and the human vision system; the optical properties of materials; photometry and colorimetry; integrating sphere flux measurements; goniophotometry and standard photometric data; spectroradiometry; measuring LEDs and solid-state lighting; measuring the photobiological safety of lamps per BS EN 62471; and flash photometry. The course will be of value to both technical and marketing staff working with displays and lighting.
