(Quebec City, QC, Canada), Gentec-EO USA, Inc.(Lake Oswego, OR) hired laser-beam measurement veteran Burt Mooney to joinits sales force as sales development manager for the USA. Mooney has been extremely active in the field of laser test & measurement over the past 25 years. He started working for Molectron Detectorin 1986, and remained active as sales manager until the company was acquired by Coherent in 2002. Since then, and until September this year, he was the power/energy meter specialist for the USA for Ophir Optronics.

Gentec Electro-Optics has 40 years of experience in the laser measurement field. In 2000, Gentec Electro-Optics, Inc. was formed from Gentec, Inc. so that the focus was entirely on laser measurement. Gail has more than 30 years of engineering, marketing, product management, and editorial experience in the photonics and optical communications industry. Before joining the staff at Laser Focus World in 2004, she held many product management and product marketing roles in the fiber-optics industry, most notably at Hughes (El Segundo, CA), GTE Labs (Waltham, MA), Corning (Corning, NY), Photon Kinetics (Beaverton, OR), and Newport Corporation (Irvine, CA). During her marketing career, Gail published articles in WDM Solutions and Sensors magazine and traveled internationally to conduct product and sales training. Gail received her BS degree in physics, with an emphasis in optics, from San Diego State University in San Diego, CA in May 1986.
