Ottawa, ON, Canada and Marietta, GA--Optical transport systems company Optelian, a designer of what it calls SMART (Scalable, Modular, Affordable, Reliable Transport) optical networks, appointed Stephen Loudermilk to the position of director of marketing. Loudermilk brings to Optelian more than 20 years of marketing, strategy, and communications experience in the optical telecommunications sector.
Prior to joining Optelian, Loudermilk oversaw social media, marketing, analyst and public relations for Alcatel-Lucent’s Services Group. In this role, he helped Alcatel-Lucent become one of the leading telecommunications companies in market share and revenue in the Services space by influencing thousands of media and analysts globally.

Loudermilk will be responsible for overseeing Optelian’s marketing and communications strategy and execution and will be based in Optelian’s US headquarters in Marietta, GA.
