Tampa, FL--StellarNet recently launched its 1st annual STAR Instrument Program, which will recognize an interesting and new research topic (or topics) that involve spectroscopy and use one of the company's miniature spectrometers to propel the research. Targeting university students, postdocs, and professors alike, a contest winner (or winners) will receive a spectrometer from the company, complete with accessories and software tailored to meet the winning application's needs.

Presentation of material and uniqueness will be considered as well.

The contest is open to all universities, colleges, and community colleges, and all entries must be submitted by October 31, 2011. Contestants must have a valid university e-mail address (.edu), university ID, currently be enrolled, and are using the system for academic research.
