Scientific-grade CCDs

March 1, 1996
Low-noise charge-coupled devices (CCDs) are suitable for spectroscopy and other scientific applications. Two different array formats are offered--1024 ¥ 64 and 512 ¥ 64 pixels with a wavelength sensitivity from 400 to 1000 nm. In low-light-level applications in which imaging is not required, these CCDs are a good alternative to expensive large CCD arrays and less-sensitive photodiode arrays.
