The SPCM-AQ single-photon-counting module series has quenching times of less than 50 ns and dark counts of less than 25 counts/s. The modules that have photon-detection efficiencies of more than 65% at 650 nm provide better performance than PMTs in applications such as lidar, photon-correlation spectroscopy, and ultrasensitive fluorescence.
