• Two industry veterans join IPG board

    Henry Gauthier, former chairman and CEO of Coherent, and William Hurley, former CFO of Applied Science & Technology, have joined the board of directors of IPG Photonics.

    OXFORD, MA - Henry Gauthier, former chairman and CEO of Coherent, and William Hurley, former CFO of Applied Science & Technology, have joined the board of directors of IPG Photonics. Gauthier helped to build Coherent into the premier laser manufacturing company in the industry; Hurley is a seasoned financial executive with more than 30 years’ experience.

    “IPG has impressive fiber laser technology and has been very successful in bringing its innovative laser products to market,” Gauthier said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience and skills as the IPG team grows the company.” In addition to his long history with Coherent-he served as president, CEO, and director from 1983 until his retirement in 1996, and served as chairman of the board until 2002 and vice chairman until this past 2006-Gauthier is chairman of Reliant Technologies (maker of aesthetic laser systems) and a member of the board of Alara.
