Russian physicists at the Institute for Laser Problems and Information Technology have developed medical equipment that will help to get rid of the deflection of the nasal septum, which, until recently, could be corrected only surgically. By directing the laser ray on a small area for 15-20 minutes to change the structure and mechanical properties of the nasal septum, it makes the tissues plastic for a short time to "correct" the form of the nasal septum. The nasal septum will remain normal and healthy after the procedure, but it will anatomically have a correct form.

The same physicists are also developing technology to correct the form of the eye cornea to treat near- or far-sightedness to replace operations such as laser surgery, which destroys tissues and has side effects.
