The M-417 linear stage for scientific motion control applications from PI (Physik Instrumente) provides 500 mm travel and half-micron resolution.

The M-417 linear stage for scientific motion control applications from PI (Physik Instrumente; Auburn, MA) provides 500 mm travel and half-micron resolution. Computer-controllable for automation and precision assembly applications, the linear translation stage can handle high duty cycles at 100 mm/s. Precision recirculating ball bearings enable guiding around 100 µrad over the complete travel range. An incremental optical rotary encoder with 4000 counts/rev provides unidirectional repeatability of 0.5 µm.
