The Katana-05/06 HP picosecond pulsed excitation laser from Onefive (Zürich, Switzerland) delivers 532 and 635 nm wavelengths; when combined with the company's Katana-08 HP 775 nm depletion laser, they have use as a stimulated emission depletion (STED) laser for super-resolution microscopy. The combination setup delivers a tunable pulse repetition rate from pulse on demand up to 120 MHz, while pulse duration can range from sub-20 ps up to 1 ns, yielding efficient results for several dyes. Other combinations of excitation and depletion wavelengths for many other dyes are also possible.
