High-frequency mirror tilting system by piezosystem jena

Sept. 17, 2008
The PSH 4/1 miniature high-frequency mirror tilting system from piezosystem jena (Jena, Germany) is distinguished by its unique compactness and resonant frequency. Because the resonant frequency can exceed 6.5kHz, the PSH 4/1 can achieve real-time laser beam stabilization. Thus, it enables applications in life science, optics, and lasers.

Thus, it is suitable for applications in life science, optics, and lasers.

PSH 4/1 is based on specially designed high-power piezo actuators that enable +/- tilting with a total travel range of up to 4mrad (unloaded). With its bidirectional gear design and a flexure hinge assembly (optimized from FEA), the system promises freedom from friction and mechanical play. Because of its internal pre-load, the system displays a very short settling time and a resonant frequency greater than 6.5kHz.

The PSH 4/1 is also available in a cryogenic and vacuum version. Mirrors and optics can be fixed by bonding on the active head plate.
