Linear translation stage for nanopositioning by PI miCos

Sept. 6, 2013
The LPS-45 linear translation stage from PI miCos can position samples along a precisely guided path with distances up to 1 in.

The LPS-45 linear translation stage from PI miCos (Auburn, MA) can position samples along a precisely guided path with distances up to 1 in. An optical linear encoder with nanometer resolution measures the position of the moving platform, while an electronic motion controller enables closed-loop operation. Features include a 15 mm profile and a standard travel range of 13 mm and 26 mm, which can be scaled up for longer ranges. An integrated piezo inertia drive provides 10 N forces.
