A 1300 nm spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) system from Wasatch Photonics' Systems Division (Durham, NC) features a 2048-pixel spectrometer rather than a swept-wavelength laser to generate deep sub-surface images. The system delivers imaging speeds of up to 70,000 lines/s for such applications as cardiology and dermatology, with potential for others.
