Sept. 12, 2016
The CR-2 PLUS AF digital non-mydriatic retinal camera performs retinal screenings, and the resulting images can be transmitted globally between doctor's offices to assist in making a diagnosis.

The CR-2 PLUS AF digital non-mydriatic retinal camera from Canon USA (Melville, NY) is a teleretinal imaging system that, when paired with the company's imageSPECTRUM image management system software, allows healthcare professionals to perform retinal screenings and then transmit the images to doctors' offices globally to assist in making a diagnosis. The 18 Mpixel camera, which uses the company's EOS optics and CMOS image-capture technology, includes a noninvasive fundus autofluorescence imaging mode that provides the ability to quickly assess the condition of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) layer.
