The Z-1000 pulsed light sterilization system from Xenon (Wilmington, MA) features the company's SteriPulse technology to provide a noncontact, low-temperature, nontoxic, nonchemical, mercury-free way to decontaminate surfaces up to 12 in. wide. The system produces ultraviolet (UV) pulses with peak power >1 kW/cm2 at irradiance magnitudes and dose flux rates that deactivate microorganisms in seconds and induce microbial sterilization in the pharmaceutical industry, among others.
