Q-Motion positioning stages from PI (Physik Instrumente; Auburn, MA) for use in life science and biomedical design applications measure 22 mm wide and are available with travel ranges from .5 to 1 in. Available options include open- and closed-loop versions, as well as feedback sensors that provide 1 nm resolution. Vacuum-compatible stages are also offered and a non-magnetic option is in preparation.
