The new fiber family includes both single mode and multimode fibers coated with a wide variety of hermetic and high temperature coatings.
Verrillon's harsh environment fibers are designed to be used in the petroleum industry for real-time downhole temperature and pressure measurements, data transmission and imaging applications. "Our harsh environment optical fibers have successfully undergone extensive qualification testing in both customer laboratories and oil field deployments. Verrillon has made a strong commitment to provide its Oil & Gas customers with high quality hermetic optical fibers. In addition, Verrillon has developed advanced proprietary tools to monitor, test and certify the hermeticity of the optical fiber. Some of the key technologies are online monitoring of the hermetic layer during fiber production, and high pressure, high temperature hydrogen ingression testing.
