Bidirectional fiber-optic link multiplexes at 2 Gbit/s

Terahertz Technologies introduces the LTX7215 Bidirectional Fiber Optic Link that multiplexes one analog and four digital channels over a single fiber at a speed of 2 Gbit/s. The LTX-7215 transceiver digitizes the analog channel to12-bit precision at 100 megasamples per second with signal bandwidth of DC to 25 MHz (-3dB) and voltage ranges of ±1 and ±5 V.

Terahertz Technologies introduces the LTX7215 Bidirectional Fiber Optic Link that multiplexes one analog and four digital channels over a single fiber at a speed of 2 Gbit/s. The transceiver digitizes the analog channel to12-bit precision at 100 megasamples per second with signal bandwidth of DC to 25 MHz (-3dB) and voltage ranges of ±1 and ±5 V. The analog signal is multiplexed with up to four independent TTL/CMOS/LVTTL digital signals that can be toggled at rates of up to 50 Mbit/s. The multiplexed signals can be transmitted more than 10 km over a single-mode fiber. Use in conjunction with a digital transceiver, for high-speed analog to digital conversion. Applications include data acquisition for plasma physics experiments, signal transmission and control of equipment at high voltage potentials, operations through Faraday shields, and precise noise-free signal transmission in hostile EMI environments.
