San Jose, California � July 13, 2001 � Adept Technology, Inc., which manufactures flexible automation for the telecommunications, fiber optic and semiconductor industries, today announced the first public showing of the AdeptVicron 310D dual arm robot, designed for semiconductor wafer handling, at the SEMICON West 2001 tradeshow in San Francisco, CA, which runs July 16th-20th.
“The AdeptVicron 310D robot, driven by Adept's world class AdeptWindows controller, provides customers with unprecedented throughput and efficiency,” said Joe Campbell, vice president of marketing for Adept Technology. “We provide a unique controller architecture with integrated support for multiple robot mechanisms, additional motion axes, peripheral control, and machine vision, with a common programming language and application layer.”
The AdeptVicron 310D is a four axis, class 1 compatible robot designed for high throughput 200 and 300-mm inspection, metrology and wafer process tools. AdeptVicron robots controlled by AdeptWindows C-40 robot controllers which enable PC connectivity at a dramatically reduced cost by providing built-in, plug-and-play Ethernet connectivity. The controller also provides simplified integration with DeviceNet industry standard distributed I/O capability.
Adept will be exhibiting at SEMICON West July 16th-20th in San Francisco, California where attendees can view the Adept FFE (Flexible Front End) featuring the AdeptVicron 300 robot and the new SMIF EZ load port. Adept�s booth will be located in the Gateway Ballroom in the South Hall of the Moscone Center in booth # 3306.
