Fiberoptic converter

March 1, 1995
The Model 371 LAN Spreader is a fiberoptic converter that breaks the 100-m distance barrier of Ethernet-based local-area networks (LANs). Paired devices can extend a LAN over 2 km. Five LED monitors are status indicators for fiber and twisted-pair links, collision, traffic, and power. The unit operates with all LANs that run at 10-Mbits/s data rate and comply with IEEE 802.3 specifications for 10Base-T ports. Conductive housing is used with a size of 1.5 ¥ 3.5 ¥ 1 in.
