The Autogyro Navigator is a compact fiberoptic gyroscope for land navigation systems. The gyro provides vehicle turning angle and interfaces with the vehicle odometer and backup light for dead-reckoning navigation. In conjunction with the Global Positioning System satellite receiver, the gyro allows determination of vehicle loca tion even when buildings, terrain, or trees block satellite signals.
