BOULDER, CO--Measurement methods are a leading indicator of the state of fiberoptic communications because they form the basis for component and systems specifications. The latest fiber and component measuerment techniques were reviewed by approximately 200 attendees at the 8th biennial Symposium on Optical Fiber Measurements held in September at the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST, Boulder, CO).
