Ultrafast fiber laser

A polarization-maintaining pulsed fiber laser, the FPL-01, generates pulses as short as 0.1 ps with a 5- to 70-MH¥repetition rate and from 0.4 to 20 mW of average power. The laser has timing jitter of less than 0.3 ps at wavelengths from 1525 to 1560 nm. The turn-key system can be used for high-speed receiver characterization, optical sampling, and optical communications R&D.
