Fiberoptic transceivers

Jan. 1, 1997
Prototype quantities of fiberoptic transceivers are available that support Ethernet transmission over distances as long as 2 km at 1.25-Gbit/s data rates. The transceiver is based on a 1300-nm Fabry-Perot laser operating with single-mode fiber. The components are intended to be compliant with the IEEE 802.3 Gbit Ethernet specifications.
