Fiber converter

March 1, 1997
The Model 279 Single-Mode to Multi-Mode Fiber Optic Converter provides full duplex conversion from 850-nm multimode signals to 1300-nm single-mode signals at rates u¥to 2.5 Mbit/s. All fiber ports are implemented with ST connectors. The system incorporates a line-loss switch that controls the gain of the amplifiers according to the amount of loss (corresponding to the distance of the single-mode fiber) in the fiber.
