The single-mode GyroSil optical fiber is insensitive to bends and robust in harsh environments and has a long projected lifetime. The fiber is designed for fiberoptic gyroscopes and other coil applications. The 80-µm cladding/ 130-µm coating diameters offer designers improved packing density and precision in coil-winding operations.
