SpecTran to supply Corning with fiber

In an agreement worth approximately $17 million, SpecTran Corp. (Sturbridge, MA) will produce a specified amount of multimode optical fiber for Corning Incorporated (Corning, NY). The deliveries will supplement Corning`s multimode-fiber production. The contract duration is three years, but the terms could be fulfilled sooner if delivery is accelerated. In an agreement worth approximately $17 million, SpecTran Corp. (Sturbridge, MA) will produce a specified amount of multimode optical fiber for Corning Incorporated (Corning, NY). The deliveries will supplement Corning`s multimode-fiber production. The contract duration is three years, but the terms could be fulfilled sooner if delivery is accelerated. The arrangement exists outside of the multimode-fiber volume limitations imposed by SpecTran`s patent license agreement with Corning, so it should not affect the fiber supply for SpecTran`s traditional customer base.
