Corning Incorporated to supply optical fiber to Condumex
Corning Inc. (Corning, NY) has agreed to a long-term supply arrangement with Condumex (Mexico City, Mexico), the largest supplier of optical fiber cable in Mexico. Under the agreement, Corning becomes Condumex`s supplier of optical fiber, which will be deployed in telecommunications applications in Mexico, throughout Latin America, and other export markets. Corning and Condumex have worked together since 1983, but this is their first formalized long-term supply agreement. Specific terms of the agreement were not announced. A recent report by Publications Research Grou¥forecast an annual growth rate of 23% for Latin America fiber network growth "if political structures can remain stable and pro-competitive forces remain steady."
