• Gain-flattening filter

A gain-flattening filter can match the gain spectrum of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier to ۪.25 dB. The filter is a short-period Bragg grating used in transmission and requires an optical isolator to eliminate the reflected light. Maximum possible attenuation is 5 dB between 1529 and 1565 nm. The filter can be used between 0° and 50°C without degradation in performance.
