Van Nuys, CA - OES (Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc.) has released four all new Dual-axis Elevation (Pitch), and Roll Gimbal Mounts. The 200 mm diameter Roll Stage capable of 360 degrees of continuous rotation, features a series of precision threaded mounting holes for mounting cameras, telescopes, lasers, instrumentation, and fixtures. The Elevation-axis is also capable of 360 degrees of continuous rotation in either direction and each axis feature 3.6 arcsecond resolution. They are ideal for: Scanning, tracking, photography, positioning, pointing, and other applications.

The Elevation and Roll axes feature Precision V-groove bearings, and are driven by a 180:1 worm gear. The resolution of each stage is 0.001 degree or 3.6 arcseconds with 10 micro-steps per Step Motor Driver in use. The robust black anodized aluminum frame and large 450 mm x 450 mm aluminum base plate with four handles and mounting holes provides stability, easy integration into new and existing applications, and portability for use in remote locations.

Motor options to move each stage are: The AU270-ER-01 (pictured) uses Two Phase Stepper Motors, the AU270-ER-02 has Three Phase Brushless Servo Motors with Quadrature Incremental Optical Encoders, the AU270-ER-03 is equipped with Brushed DC Servo Motors with Quadrature

Incremental Optical Encoders, and the AU270-ER-04 has Two Phase Stepper Motors with Quadrature Incremental Optical Encoders for position verification. Higher resolutions and travel speeds to 45 degrees per second are possible with the servo motors in a closed loop servo system. Electrical connections are made using 9 pin DB-9 connectors.

The weight of these dual-axis gimbal stages is 35 kg. They can be ordered as a complete Plug-and-Play System with a multi-axis motion controller, joystick, trackball, or keypad.
