Broadband femtosecond lasers for Multiphoton applications - 30 fs and 3W
December 18, 2025 - HÜBNER Photonics, manufacturer of high-performance lasers for advanced imaging, detection and analysis, proudly announces a higher power model of the VALO Tidal femtosecond laser. Now available with 3 W of output power, the VALO Tidal delivers pulse durations of typically 30 fs in a compact and robust footprint.
The proprietary fiber laser technology of the VALO Femtosecond Series lasers, means that the lasers have an even higher optical bandwidth than the gain bandwidth due to a perfect interaction of linear and nonlinear effects. This unique design allows the passively cooled systems to generate clean ultrafast pulses with unprecedented peak power levels and previously unattainable spectral bandwidths spanning 990–1140 nm. The new VALO Tidal 3 W model is ideally suited for simultaneous second and third harmonic imaging using standard microscope objectives. The integrated dispersion pre-compensation unit means the user can benefit from the advantages of exceptional peak power and wide spectral bandwidth, for most nonlinear microscopy and photonics applications.
A key benefit of the VALO Tidal’s wide emission spectrum is the highly efficient excitation of red fluorophores and other dyes in the 1000–1040 nm range, enabling brighter signals, deeper imaging penetration, and improved contrast. This capability makes the system particularly attractive for advanced multiphoton imaging, broadband terahertz generation, and nonlinear wafer inspection.
