    FIGURE 1. A fiber Bragg grating interrogation system monitors wavelength shifts in FBG sensors and achieves resolution, accuracy, linearity, and stability in the picometer-wavelength range. Key to the system is the multiwavelength reference, which contains a reference LED, a bandpass filter, and a fixed Fabry-Perot interferometer.
    An interrogation system to measure wavelength shifts in fiber Bragg gratings achieves picometer wavelength accuracies over an extended time.
