ILX Lightwave announces the release of a 30 W optical-power and wavelength measurement head for its optical-power and wavelength meter. The new head is water-cooled to provide continuous optical-power measurement up to 30 W.

IlX Lightwave announces the release of the OMH-67452B 30W Optical Power and Wavelength Measurement Head for the OMM-6810B Optical Power and Wavelength Meter. The OMH-67452B is water-cooled to provide continuous optical-power measurement up to 30 W. The calibrated head provides NIST-traceable power accuracy of ±5.0% and wavelength accuracy of ±1.0 nm from 800 to 1100 nm. Increased versatility was designed into the OMH-67452B with a fiber exit port to connect to an OSA or other measurement instrument to make spectral measurements. The OMH-67452B is designed for manufacturing testing to increase device throughput by eliminating the need to wait for the thermal detector to settle.

PRESS RELEASE

30 W Optical Power and Wavelength Measurement Head for High-Power Laser Diodes

ILX Lightwave Corporation announces the release of the OMH-67452B 30W Optical Power and Wavelength Measurement Head for the OMM-6810B Optical Power and Wavelength Meter. The OMH-67452B is water-cooled to provide continuous optical power measurement up to 30W. The calibrated head provides NIST traceable power accuracy of ±5.0% and wavelength accuracy of ±1.0nm over a range of 800nm to 1100nm. Increased versatility was designed into the OMH-67452B with a fiber exit port to connect to an OSA or other measurement instrument to make spectral measurements.

The unique wavelength measurement capability "self calibrates" the wavelength dependent response of the detector. Thus there is no need to enter a wavelength for an accurate power measurement allowing it to act like a spectrally-flat thermal detector. Unlike thermal detectors the OMH-67452B uses integrating spheres and photodetector technology to provide instantaneous optical power and wavelength measurements.

The OMH-67452B is designed for manufacturing testing to increase device throughput by eliminating the need to wait for the thermal detector to settle. Additionally the unique wavelength measurement and NIST traceable power accuracy gives it added benefits in R&D test applications.
