UDT Sensors pays $1.5 million to settle federal inquiry

The HiRel Division of UDT Sensors Inc. (Hawthorne, CA) sacked the employees involved with creating erroneous test data on a US government contract for photodetectors and settled with an agreement to pay the government $1.5 million in damages over a fiveyear period. According to UDT, the suspect devices were recalled and retested with no rejects thus far. UDT, a subsidiary of Opto Sensors Inc. (Hawthorne, CA), expects no negative impact on operations and financial strength.
