• Analog photodiode

An impedance-matched pigtailed PIN photodetector is designed for use in high-performance cable TV receivers. The QDIV has a 75-W impedance-matching transformer in a hermetically sealed 14-pin dual-in-line package. The fiber pigtail is an angle-polished low-reflection single-mode 9/125-µm fiber. By combining the photodiode and impedance-matching in one receiver, parasitics are reduced, a higher-power signal is extracted, and analog receiver design is simplified.
