Surface-mount modules for fiberoptic subscriber applications incorporate a laser diode and photodiode. The 7.6 ¥ 12 ¥ 3 mm module can be used in standard surface-mount production processes and includes a detachable pigtail. The laser diode (ODS485) and the photodiode (ODS486) operate at u¥to 622 Mbits/s.
